VIIN Young Investigator Symposium

VIIN Young investigator Symposium was held on the 9th of November at Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Parkville campus. The conference consisted of over 30 talks presented by researchers as well as 2 keynote speakers.

The event showcased posters and talks covering research centred around a wide range of infectious diseases, including malaria, COVID, dengue, influenza as well as novel immunological discoveries.

Keynote speakers Professor Ben Cowie and Dr Kim O’Sullivan spoke about their own non-linear paths through science, and how partnerships and community engagement during research reinforced meaning into their work and sustained them during difficult times. VIIN-YIS provided an excellent opportunity for young investigators working as research assistants or ECRs or studying in Honours, Masters or PhD courses to present their work, make connections and develop their career. A large thanks goes towards the judges, organisers, sponsors and attendees of this great event!
